Dynamic pricing and discounts explained
Choose the right promotion: percentage, amount, target price, quantity bands, BOGO or cart savings.
What changes a dynamic price?
A dynamic price is calculated when the cart meets your conditions: selected products or variations, eligible customers, quantities, minimum spend and dates. A discount is the reduction applied once those conditions match. You can use both in one promotion. The plugin recalculates cart prices; it does not overwrite your regular or sale prices in the catalog.
Choose your promotion type
- Product discount: reduce every eligible unit by a percentage or amount, or give it a target price.
- Quantity: same price for every unit: reach a band and apply that band to all eligible units in the quantity group.
- Quantity: progressive price bands: apply each band only to its units. Earlier units retain their earlier price. Counts are per cart line.
- Buy X, discount Y: buy a complete group and discount the cheapest reward units already in the cart.
- Cart discount: reduce the eligible cart selection; a fixed amount is deducted once and allocated across its lines.
From a business offer to settings
For “six shirts across sizes at €16 each,” create a quantity same-price rule, choose Set unit price, select the shirt parent, count Per parent product, combining variations, and add a band From quantity 6 / Band value 16. Three Small plus three Large total €96. Selecting Per cart line would require each size to reach six separately.
Know the starting defaults
New promotions are inactive. Sale products are excluded and any coupon suspends the promotion by default. Empty product inclusions mean all otherwise eligible products; empty customer inclusions mean everyone. Name and target the promotion before activating it. The global offer strategy determines whether multiple matching rules can apply.
Verify where the price is decided
- Save the rule inactive and preview it with the simulator’s inactive-promotions option.
- Activate and save. Add qualifying products to the real cart.
- Change quantities below and above the condition. Read the line total and promotion saving before coupons.
- Complete a simulated checkout and inspect the saved order. Taxes and native coupons follow WooCommerce’s calculations.
The catalog can still show the original price: that is expected. There is no automatic catalog badge, live product-price table or free-gift insertion in this version. Configure the three price adjustments →
