HS Dynamic Pricing & Discount Rules · 0.1.0-alpha.3
Check totals and troubleshoot an offer
Trace a discount from rule selection to cart, checkout and order, with practical recovery steps.
The promotion does not apply
- Save and activate it. A saved inactive rule affects only an explicitly enabled draft preview.
- Check the exact product or variation, exclusions and sale status.
- Check the customer role and account; exclusions win.
- Check the quantity group, whole-cart spend, date and coupon policy.
- Read each explanation in Cart simulator. Another complete offer may have won under Best or First.
The amount is different from the advertisement
Compare bulk versus progressive, per-unit versus once-per-cart fixed reduction, and parent versus per-line counting. The maximum quantity is an eligibility ceiling, not a purchase restriction. Sequential 10% then 20% gives 28% combined saving, not 30%. A BOGO group includes both buy and reward quantities; all units must be added manually.
The unit price seems a cent out
BOGO can distribute a reward over a line: three €20 mugs total €40, with an average unit display of €13.33. The line total uses full calculation precision. Promotion saving (before coupons) reports the whole-line saving; coupons and tax display can make it differ from the final grand-total difference.
Cart, checkout and order checklist
- Use synthetic data and a manual/test gateway on staging. Record regular/sale prices and exact quantities.
- Test below, at and above each threshold. Recalculate the cart more than once; the discount must not deepen on every refresh.
- Add/remove a coupon, confirm customer identity and address, and check native taxes and shipping separately.
- Complete a test order. Inspect each variation, quantity, saved line amount and Promotion metadata.
- Deactivate the offer and start a new cart: original pricing returns. An existing order remains a historical record; editing the rule does not rewrite it.
Demo questions
Catalog prices stay original until the cart calculation. Start an admin sandbox from the demo page to inspect or change settings. The sandbox lasts 60 minutes; expired sessions require a new demo. Changes are private to that sandbox. A new sandbox receives current examples; an existing one is not silently overwritten. Payments, shipments and external emails are simulated or blocked.
Prepare a useful support report
Include plugin/WP/Woo/PHP versions, relevant rule settings, product type and price, quantities, offer strategy, coupon and tax context, expected versus actual line totals, and whether the problem occurs in classic or Blocks checkout. Reproduce with synthetic data. Remove names, addresses, emails, payment information and credentials from screenshots and logs.
Check availability before planning an offer
Automatic gifts, a separate buy-A/reward-B selector, recurring weekdays, first-order/history conditions, usage budgets, live product tables, JSON import/export, AI configuration, subscriptions and multi-currency integrations are not provided or validated by this alpha. They must not be promised as configurable options. See installation and compatibility →
