HS Dynamic Pricing & Discount Rules · 0.1.0-alpha.3
Bulk and progressive pricing
Compare one price for all units with discounts that apply only to a later quantity band.
One price for every unit
Create a promotion for a product priced 18. Choose Quantity: same price for every unit and Set unit price. Add a band starting at 6 with value 16. Save and activate. Five units cost 90; six cost 96 because every unit uses the new price.
Progressive price bands
Use Quantity: progressive price bands with the same band. Six units cost 106: the first five cost 18 each and only the sixth costs 16. This type requires Per cart line. Percentage and Amount off are also supported for bands.
Choose what counts
- Per cart line: each variation or separate line must reach the threshold itself.
- Per parent product, combining variations:3 Small+3 Large from one parent reach 6. Select the variable parent to include its variations.
- Across all selected products: eligible products contribute to one group. Excluded products never count.
Check boundaries
Test the quantity immediately below a band, exactly at it and one above it. Add a second band only with a greater starting quantity; duplicate or decreasing thresholds are rejected and your input remains visible. Set unit price never raises a cheaper price. Discounts cannot reduce a line below zero.
In the demo, compare the notebook and print separately, then add 3 shirts of each size. Expected totals:96 bulk,106 progressive and 96 combined shirts.
Product price previews and minimum spend
The product page shows an exact quote for the selected quantity and examples at applicable bulk/progressive thresholds. Choose all variation options first. Changing or clearing a variation replaces or removes the preview. The table currently shows examples, not every possible interval.
A €10 product with a six-unit tier and a €95 minimum net subtotal first qualifies at ten units: a 10% promotion totals €90. A later 20% tier from twelve units also appears, totaling €96. The original net subtotal controls this eligibility; the discounted result and Min/Max purchase amount conditions are separate checks.
The average unit amount is rounded for display. In progressive pricing, six €18 units with only the sixth reduced to €16 total €106, not €96. Cart totals remain authoritative. Other items, coupons, stock and purchase constraints can change the outcome.
