Set up your floating cart
- Back up a staging store with WooCommerce active. Install the Free ZIP and activate it.
- Open HookSpark → Side Cart Free. The feature starts disabled.
- Enable Free, choose a left or right button, select an accent color and save.
- Open a product page, add a sample item and use the floating cart button. Check quantity changes, removal and the checkout link on desktop and phone.
What Free includes
A floating button opens the native WooCommerce Mini-Cart drawer. WooCommerce manages cart lines, quantity changes, item removal, subtotal and the links to your cart and checkout. The drawer follows your native Mini-Cart template; theme overrides may change its appearance. Free does not replace saved product prices or payment gateways.
Where the button appears
The button appears on ordinary storefront pages after you enable it. It is omitted on cart, checkout, account, feeds and 404 pages. A cart button already supplied by your theme remains in place. Choose a position that does not cover your consent banner or other important controls. The accent applies to the floating button and its keyboard focus, not to every control inside the native drawer.
Choose Free or Premium
Free covers the native drawer. Premium adds its own three templates, a centered popup, coupon and undo controls, suggestions, shipping progress and design previews. Its informational controls are disabled in the Free admin and cannot be enabled by changing the submitted form.
If Premium is active, Free does not add its floating button, even when the Premium overlay is disabled. Settings remain separate. Deactivate Premium to return to your saved Free configuration; no automatic migration takes place.
Tested scope and limits
The Free candidate was tested on WordPress 7.1.2, WooCommerce 11.1.0, PHP 8.2.29 and Twenty Twenty-Five 1.5. The native drawer opened from the Free button; changing a €20 item from one to two units produced €40. Escape restored focus. Native cart tests used two isolated guests, quantities and removal. Admin checks covered authorization, unsupported settings, language and Premium precedence.
This development preview does not certify every theme, cart extension, shared cache, screen reader, minimum platform version or payment gateway. The native WooCommerce drawer and its translations are dependencies. Test your own store before production use. A dedicated personal Free demo is still being prepared; existing Side Cart previews show Premium.
Updates, privacy and removal
No license, external account or telemetry is required. Free stores one presentation option; WooCommerce owns cart sessions and customer data. Deactivation and plugin removal retain the option for a later reinstall. Update manually through WordPress with a newer Free ZIP after a backup. Automatic update delivery is not part of this preview.
Frequently asked questions
Does Free change my live store as soon as I activate it?
No on a clean install. Enable it in settings and save. Previously saved settings apply again after reactivation.
Can customers still use coupons?
Yes, in the native cart or checkout where your store supports them. The dedicated coupon controls inside the Premium cart are a separate feature.
Can I edit my theme’s Mini-Cart template?
WooCommerce and your theme may provide their own template editor. That is separate from this plugin’s Free settings.
