Original handbook test environment

The original handbook scenarios used WordPress 7.1.1, WooCommerce 11.1.0 and PHP 8.2.29 with HPOS in Plugin Lab. These are dated test results, not a complete compatibility matrix for the current release. See the current release notes for later platform and integration checks.

Installation

  1. Back up a staging site with WooCommerce active.
  2. Install and activate HS Product Options & Add-Ons Free first.
  3. For advanced fields, install the matching Product Options & Add-Ons Pro package alongside Free.
  4. Open HookSpark → Product Options & Add-Ons, configure an inactive group, save and test before enabling.

Current release limits

Free and Pro 1.0.4 are supported releases for their documented scope. Review the dated compatibility notes and test your own store on staging before updating. Free and Pro must remain on compatible versions. Missing Pro providers fail closed instead of silently removing required paid options.

Demo safety

A personal sandbox lasts 60 minutes. Use fictional information and sample images only. Product editing is restricted to its demo catalog; media uploads are limited to JPEG, PNG and WebP, up to 2 MiB. Customer artwork uses the separate private-file policy shown in each field. Expiry revokes access; scheduled cleanup removes the site, user and private tables. Actual cleanup can follow expiry when the scheduler next runs.

Earlier Elementor Free shortcode check

Product Options & Add-Ons alpha.12 was tested locally with Elementor Free 4.3.1 using its Shortcode widget and the WooCommerce

shortcode. The simple-product test covered image choices, modal steps, required fields, a $12 product plus a $2 option, and the configured item in the cart. Mobile layout was checked at 390 px. Environment: WordPress 6.8, WooCommerce 10.6.0, PHP 8.2.29 and Twenty Twenty-Five 1.2.

That earlier check did not cover Elementor Pro Theme Builder, dynamically inserted forms, embedded variable products or upload checkout. Contact Form 7 6.1.7 and Yoast SEO 27.9 were active during that test. Later checks have their own dated scope in the release notes.
