Test the purchase journey

Development alpha 0.1.0-alpha.1 · Updated 20 September 2026

Check the complete purchase path

For each published group, test a matching product and a nonmatching product. Test required fields empty, conditions on/off, two different personalizations, variation changes, quantity updates and the final checkout. Inspect the saved order and confirm that fulfillment information is readable.

Different selected values create separate cart lines. Updating quantity recalculates the extras from the current definitions; prices supplied by a browser are not trusted. Changing a saved definition does not rewrite the historical option snapshot on an existing order.

With Min/Max installed, its quantity and amount rules continue to apply. With Dynamic Pricing installed, verify the intended discount on the combined priced product and its extras using a concrete test order. Do not infer compatibility with an untested third-party theme, builder or pricing extension.

Text limits count Unicode code points after trimming and removing HTML, rather than bytes. A simple emoji counts as one; a combined emoji can contain several code points. The live quote reports invalid input, and the server enforces the limit when adding to the cart. Text is not silently truncated by the browser.

Permanently deleting an order releases its private uploaded files. Files shared with another order are retained. Unexpired upload references retain their original24-hour lifetime; expired unreferenced files are removed in bounded cleanup batches. Moving an order to Trash keeps its files available for restoration.

In the draft preview, choose a product and customer to see other saved groups that also apply. Groups add their visible fields and charges; they do not override one another. The displayed preview price covers only the open draft, not those other groups or cart discounts. Save and test the combined configuration on the storefront before enabling it for customers.

If an upload data-version warning appears after replacing Pro with an older version, restore the compatible version or a matched backup of files and database. Do not edit the schema option to dismiss the warning. Upload operations are blocked to protect the existing files.

Try the guided examples

The local Product Options & Add-Ons demo contains separate Free and Pro examples. Start with Gift wrap and engraving: select wrapping and enter a name. The example costs €20 plus €5 wrapping and €3 engraving, so the displayed total is €28 for one item. Uncheck wrapping to hide and clear the engraving and return to €20. Selecting wrapping again requires a new engraving.

In Setup once, engraving per character (Pro), select the setup service and enter Hi. One item costs €28: €20 product, €6 setup, and €2 engraving. Set quantity to two: the total becomes €50, because setup remains €6 while product and engraving costs double. Uncheck setup to see €44. Character pricing counts Unicode code points; a combined emoji or accented sequence can contain more than one code point.

These example amounts describe the product quote before cart discounts, coupons and shipping. They are synthetic demonstration prices, not plugin purchase prices. The examples require the matching demo configuration; installing the plugin alone does not create these products.

Try a two-step configurator

Open Color, date and conditional message (Pro). Choose Ruby and select Add a gift message: both conditions are needed to show the required message. Enter a message, press Next, and choose a date. Back keeps your selections.

Choose Ivory to hide the message. Hidden values are cleared, so choosing Ruby again requires a new message; the date remains selected in the second step. This distinction is intentional: moving between steps preserves applicable values, while changing a condition clears values that no longer apply. Complete the required fields before adding the product to your cart.
